Stallion Placement Scheme
27 Jul 2010
In these challenging economic times, Racing Te Aroha has successfully maintained the stake of the TRAC Group’s flagship race by utilizing the Stallion Placement Service Scheme.

This is an innovative way to raise funds for the stake of New Zealand’s ONLY Group 1 Fillies and Mares race known for the past 8 years as the “NEW ZEALAND BLOODSTOCK BREEDERS STAKES” ... our country’s richest & most prestigious race for fillies and mares.

The large roomy Te Aroha track gives every runner a fair chance and the long testing straight means the best horse on the day wins. In previous years the fields have even included entrants from Australia chasing the highly prized Group One glory. The Lee Freedman trained “Dane Julia” took the race out in 2009 and returned to defend her crown in 2010 but was defeated by the “Juice” from the John Wheeler stable.

Like most country racing clubs, the committee is made up of a number of highly dedicated racing enthusiasts who donate their time in service of their club. A number of these committee members are responsible for driving the success of the Stallion Placement Scheme by calling upon the studs in the greater Waikato region to donate a stallion service which is then sold by tender to the highest bidder from a database of breeders across New Zealand.

Racing Te Aroha is grateful for the generosity of the studs and shareholders who have donated stallion services in the past and the club encourages you to mate your mare with one of the quality stallions involved in the scheme to ensure this remains our country’s richest race for fillies & mares.

Support the Stallion Placement Scheme and keep this the race of races!
